Pre & Post Care
Please avoid Ibuprofen, Aleve, Aspirin, Vitamin E, fish oil, and other anti-inflammatory medications or supplements for 7 days prior to treatment to reduce the risk of bruising after treatment. Avoid alcohol at least 24 hours prior to injection to reduce the risk of bruising. You are not a candidate for treatment if you are pregnant, nursing or are diagnosed with certain autoimmune conditions.
No heavy sweating for 24 hours- avoid saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. No make up for 24 hours post treatment. Massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days as directed by your provider. Apply ice to treated areas to help with swelling. Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours.
Downtime is usually minimal. Some injection site redness, swelling or bruising is to be expected, but usually subsides within a few days after treatment. Please schedule treatments at least two weeks before any events; one month is best.

Full results of treatment are 6-8 weeks post treatment as collagen production increases. Sculptra is typically done in a series of 3 treatments, with 1-2 vials per treatment depending on the patient. Treatment typically lasts 2 years with annual maintenance of 1-2 vials.
