Step 1: Consultation with Dr. Jennifer Redmond
During this initial consultation, Dr. Jennifer Redmond will review your personal and family health history, current and past symptoms, and conduct a physical examination, which includes body measurements and before photos. Additionally, a blood test tailored to your specific needs will be performed.
Step 2: Follow-Up Appointment
Scheduled for 1 week after your initial consultation, this follow-up appointment will involve a detailed review of the results from your blood work. Dr. Redmond will discuss how these results may relate to any symptoms you are experiencing, along with reviewing your body measurements, weight-loss goals, and potential treatment timelines. Together, you will develop a custom plan, which includes optimization of vitamins and supplements, prescription hormonal and non-hormonal medications, medications for weight loss, as well as creating an individualized diet, exercise, and macro-nutrient goals tailored to restore optimal hormonal balance and function, thereby aiding in weight loss.
Step 3: Subsequent Follow-Up Appointments
Follow-up appointments are scheduled every 4 weeks for a total of 4 follow-up appointments (more if indicated). These appointments will focus on assessing symptom improvement, laboratory monitoring, and titration/adjustment of medications and lifestyle modifications. Dr. Redmond will prioritize individual goals at each appointment and base discussions on your specific questions and concerns. While most women achieve optimal hormone balance, some may require additional monthly appointments depending on their weight loss goals.
Step 4: Final Appointment
Once hormonal stabilization and weight loss goals are achieved, the final appointment will be utilized to establish a long-term plan for maintaining balanced hormones and stable weight.
Step 5: Yearly Follow-Up
Yearly follow-up appointments are recommended to reassess and make any necessary adjustments. Additionally, if new or worsening symptoms, including weight gain, develop at any time, it would warrant an appointment prior to the yearly follow-up.
