Medical Assistant
Assist both the medical providers as well as the front desk staff as needed. This role will will not only require clinical and technical skills, but also great communication with patients and other staff, and knowledge of the esthetic industry/skincare. No medical experience required, but is preferred.
Your role may include receiving and welcoming customers to the spa, assisting with phone calls or scheduling, answering inquiries about services, products and pricing offered at the spa. Under the supervision of a medical provider, you will also use or learn clinical skills such as daily set up of procedures, assist with rooming patients, removal of cosmetics, application of facial products, and assisting providers by recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, rescheduling patient appointments.
As the face of the business, our staff will have the responsibility of promoting the image of the organization by having attention to detail including personal appearance and the appearance of the spa. This includes having a professional appearance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Important duties, tasks, and responsibilities required for this position:
Assist with opening and/or closing the spa at the appropriate time
Setting up rooms for procedures
Checking patients in and out of appointments
Recording patient health history information and contact information
Communicate with providers about patients’ arrival, cancellations or patients who do not come to their scheduled appointment
Removing cosmetics and reapplication of delegated products
Utilizing a calming demeanor to help patients through procedures
Assisting providers with post treatment education and guidelines
Assisting providers with review of treatment plans and scheduling
Sanitizing rooms between procedures
Inventory, organizing, cleaning and restocking treatment rooms
Light cleaning (taking out trash, shapes containers, etc)
Assist with laundry
Understanding prescription skincare carried by the office, exercising professional and clinical judgement when making recommendations to patients
Remaining up-to-date on all procedures the clinic offers and knowledge of the latest innovations in medical aesthetics and cosmetic dermatology
Practice in a professional manor meeting the standards of the clinic
Skills and Qualifications
Medical experience & knowledge of medical terminology preferred but no required
Good human relations
Knowledge of phone etiquette, comfortable making calls to patients and handling scheduling inquiries
Possess strong knowledge of how computers work, iPad knowledge, as well as the ability to use retail software to process and store information
Excellent multitasking skills to successfully handle several assignments at the same time
Possess strong organizational skills required for achieving efficiency on the job
Excellent communication skills needed for effective discussions with clients to promote the spa’s products and services to them.
Pay & Benefits:
Hourly rate based on experience
4 days per week, 32-26 hours
3 weeks of PTO annually
